What skills and experience we're looking for
The main duties and responsibilities of this post include:
- Teach RS in KS3.
- Teach GCSE Citizenship Studies.
- Potentially take a leadership role to develop the RS curriculum across the school.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
· An ability to teach Religious Studies [essential] and Citizenship [preferred]
- The potential to be an outstanding teacher
- Knowledge and understanding of the RS curriculum and pedagogy
- Personal ambition and the capacity for hard work

South Craven School, supported by South Craven Academy Trust since May 2011, is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated in a semi-rural location on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with easy access to Leeds, Bradford and Greater Manchester. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Humanities Faculty. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable Teacher who can deliver outstanding teaching in RS and Citizenship. This is a great opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced teacher to join our friendly and professional team. The faculty is a vibrant and highly successful faculty and offers GCSE History, GCSE Citizenship Studies, A-level History and A-level Politics. Religious Studies is currently taught as a discrete subject in Year 8 and the school is looking to further develop its RS curriculum.
