Teacher of Religious Studies (Part Time - Maternity Cover) job summary
We seek to appoint a Teacher of Religious Studies on a 0.6FTE basis to join our team at Manor Church of England Academy for maternity cover.
In Key Stage 3, all students follow a varied Religious Studies curriculum, balancing the different ways of knowing in RS. The majority of our teaching at KS3 is approached in a thematic way including key questions that engage with the general idea of what it means to have different worldviews, the Nature of God, positive engagement with our environment, why people do good and bad, what it means to be human and faith inspired action in our communities. Our schemes of learning dedicate the majority of their time to studying the beliefs, practices and ways of living of Christians but also cover in depth study of Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs and other non-religious worldviews . Furthermore, the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award is a fundamental part of our KS3 curriculum which supports our school values of serving others, growing together and living life to the full.
