What skills and experience we're looking for

Graduate Teacher able to plan and teach one of the mainstream subjects at KS3 and KS4

  • Experience of assessment of student performance at Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential to develop along with the curriculum at KS5).
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements and assessment at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Knowledge of current trends in the teaching of their subject(s)
  • Excellent classroom teacher with a lively, interactive approach
  • Effective classroom manager
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to teach their specialist subject across the 11-16 age range to students of all abilities
  • A commitment to the place of their specialist subject in the comprehensive school curriculum
  • Patience, determination and tact; with students, parents & colleagues
  • A commitment to equal opportunities
  • A commitment to high standards
  • Engaging personality to whom students respond
  • Willingness to work hard for sustained periods
