Teacher of Science job summary
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational Teacher of Science who is dynamic, creative and ambitious to cover a period of maternity leave.
Job overview
You’ll be delivering core aspects of the Science curriculum, leading and implementing outstanding teaching practices to instil key knowledge within learners and using assessment and feedback to sustain and raise achievement.
Purpose:
- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
- To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
- To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
- To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
The right candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
- Relevant specialist qualifications and experience (e.g BSc in Sceince or related degree)
- Ability to deliver high-quality Science lessons covering a range of modules and concepts
- A good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for Science
- Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning to ensure all learners progress and achieve to a high standard in preparation for examinations
