What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a colleague who is an excellent classroom practitioner and has the passion to build the profile of Science within the school. We have motivated and committed A level students, many of whom choose to continue to study Science at University and we would like to continue develop this enthusiasm further down the school. The department consists of 12 experienced Science teachers and 3 experienced Science technicians.
If appointed, you would join a strong and friendly team of professionals who continually strive for excellence and improve their practice through a range of CPD activities, including professional dialogue and discussion of evidence based pedagogy. The successful applicant will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 with the possibility of teaching KS5 in the future.
Science is taught in 10 themes in a spiral curriculum, revisiting ideas and topics throughout students’ time at school. At KS4 we offer a broad range of qualifications from Separate Science GCSEs, Combined Science GCSE and Entry Level Science. At KS5, as well as teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics A Level, we run a Level 3 BTEC course in Applied Human Biology.
