Teacher of Science job summary

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Teacher of Science at Arrow Vale.

As a school, we received an ‘Outstanding’ grade in all categories from Ofsted in 2014, 2018 and have maintained this standard in our most recent inspection in 2024. We would like to offer you the chance to work alongside a dedicated, friendly and hardworking Science department, highlighted in the most recent Ofsted inspection ‘outcomes in Science are exceptionally high because of the high quality of leadership and training’.

The Science department currently offers GCSE qualifications in Combined and Separate Science awards (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and also offers ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, along with Level 3 AAQ Applied Science. The ability to teach Key Stage 5 would be desirable. Results for the past 3 years have been strong at both GCSE and A Level.

As a previously designated National Teaching School, leading on staff development and initial teacher training, we offer clear opportunities for personal and professional development. We have a range of pathways and programmes tailored to the needs of staff at various levels of their career. These include a Middle Leader Programme as well as a Senior Leader Development Programme. Applications are also welcome from ECT's.

Interested candidates who wish to have an informal conversation about this role are welcome to contact Sam Lal - DLS Science: slal@arrowvale.crst.org.uk
