Contract: Permanent, full time.

Our Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Science and Health to join our department, teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5.
The Science department (which includes Health) consists of five teaching staff in total, plus a technician – the college has 210 students in year 9-11 and 40 Sixth Form students. All students start on a Combined Science pathway with the opportunity to branch into Triple Science in Year 11 as appropriate. Classes are broadly set by ability. We use the AQA specification. At A level, Physics and Applied Biology A Levels are taught.
In the Health specialism, we deliver OCR Nationals (L2) and Technicals (L3) and Sociology GCSE/GCE.

Each teacher has their own specialist teaching space.
The successful candidate will be able to plan and teach engaging Science and Health Science lessons as part of our STEM-rich curriculum. Students have discrete Science lessons from KS3 to KS5 and the successful candidate must be able to teach across the ability range.
The teaching load split between Science and Health is approximately 3:2.

Understand, meet and promote all aspects of the teacher standards.
Have excellent subject knowledge demonstrating a true passion and commitment to Science; be a learner, continually reflecting and considering steps to make to develop and enhance practice.
