Are you an inspirational teacher with a passion for delivering excellent educational experiences?
Kingsmead Science are looking for a qualified teacher to join our committed, enthusiastic and successful team of 8. The applicant will have their own specialised modern lab and will be part of a close-knit and vibrant department. Ideally, we are looking for a Chemistry or Physics specialist but not essential. The applicant will be delivering Science to KS3 and KS4 and will be involved in our transition to a new curriculum (from AQA to Edexcel).
About you:
You will be:
- a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
- able to deliver the curriculum in your chosen area and consistently teach high quality lessons across relevant key stages.
- able to meet the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and High Attaining students.
- a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change, motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- able to recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience & learning.
- empowered to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.
- highly competent in all elements of the Teachers’ Standards and your achievements and contribution will be substantial and sustained as an Upper Pay Scale teacher.

About Kingsmead Academy:
Kingsmead is an 11- 16 school in the heart of the community. We are close to Taunton, Wellington and the M5. The school has just under 900 students on roll with some excellent facilities. Unusually for a secondary school we have our own farm and we run a land based course in KS4 which reflects an important aspect of our local community. In July 2025 we decided to join the Cabot Learning Federation having been a single academy for a number of years as they shared our ethos and vision for high quality education for all.
