What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science who can deliver high-quality learning opportunities for our students across this curriculum area. Our successful candidate will be driven, motivated and most of all, passionate about the visual arts and nurturing creativity.
What the school offers its staff
You will be part of a vibrant, experienced, supportive team; we believe in working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other to achieve great things and see this as the key to further developing innovative teaching and learning strategies. The visual arts are highly valued at LAB, and if successful you will be joining a well-resourced and successful department.
If you want to join a highly successful team who are passionate about research-informed education, and you can inspire learners to go beyond what they are taught and seek what they do not yet know, then we want to hear from you.
This is a full-time, maternity cover position however, we welcome applications from candidates seeking extra responsibility and could be interested in a Deputy Director of Learning Science role which would come with a TLR.
Note that whilst the position is offered on a maternity cover basis until January 2028, every effort will be made to offer a substantive position thereafter, either at Leigh Academy Blackheath or within the wider family of academies across Leigh Academies Trust. The central Recruitment Team will keep in touch with you throughout your contract to discuss options available to you.
