Job overviewThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified classroom teacher to make a significant contribution to the school. We are looking for a colleague who will embrace our drive to ensure that Science is at the core of our curriculum and has students' progress at the forefront of their teaching. R&R payments are available for those looking for additional responsibility.

The Science Department:

The Science department is made up of 11 teachers with a range of experience. Co-operation and teamwork are a key component of the ethos of the faculty.

The department currently gets exceptional outcomes at Key stage 4 (top 5% of the country) and there are opportunities to teach A Level or vocational courses for the right candidate at Key stage 5. There are many opportunities to contribute to enrichment opportunities within the team to add to our well established Science week, Crest award and science club offer.

The post holder will benefit from excellent facilities and technical support and will have the full backing of the leadership team to ensure that our practical provision is first class.

It is my pleasure to extend a very warm welcome to the Northwood School.

Northwood is a rapidly growing, popular, 11-18, fully-inclusive co-educational school where students make outstanding progress. In our recent Ofsted inspection, (October 2018) we were judged to be Outstanding. As a result of rapidly rising student numbers we are looking to increase our staff for next year. The school which is located in Northwood, North West London is easily accessible due to the area’s excellent transport links. The nearest tube station is Northwood Hills which is on the Metropolitan line.

We recently moved into a brand new, state of the art building with fantastic facilities for both our staff and students. We are a forward thinking, caring, and most important of all, happy school, where students of all abilities and social backgrounds achieve very well.
