What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a dynamic classroom practitioner who:

  • has excellent subject knowledge

  • is resilient and resourceful

  • sets a high standard and who inspires students to meet this

  • makes learning exciting, leading to high levels of engagement and exam success

  • thrives within a team and who enjoys collaborative working

  • ideally can teach all Science subjects through to GCSE, although there can be some specialism at KS4

  • has a love of PE that will inspire our students to further their achievement

Science is a highly successful subject at The Wavell School. Results are well above the national average with over 80% of students gaining at least two standard passes in Science and with 30% of students studying three separate Sciences. The Science Faculty occupies seven modern laboratories with a preparation room, staff room and resources areas.

Physical Education at The Wavell School is a dynamic and thriving department, inspiring students to excel in fitness, sport, and well-being., healthy lives. Results exceeded the national average, with 74% of students achieving a grade 4 equivalent or higher. Our extracurricular program offers a wide range of opportunities for students to explore and develop their interests.
