Responsible to: Head of Department
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Science. The Science department at Salford City Academy has enjoyed outstanding results, with Combined Science improving year on year and Triple Science results that put us in the top 10% of all schools in the country. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, supportive, and experienced team who in 2020 were awarded ‘Team of Year’ for all United learning schools. We want students to understand the world around them and be inspired to consider the future impact of science in their lives and their roles in it. This post would suit either an experienced teacher or an outstanding ECT and we would welcome applications from either. If you have a talent and the potential to be an outstanding member of the department, we look forward to receiving your application.
Why choose us?
Salford City Academy is an 11- 16 school which is growing at a fast rate. For September 2023 we will be oversubscribed, and we are always looking for opportunities to recruit excellent candidates into our fantastic team. We are a good school with high ambitions and expectations for all of our students. As an academy committed to professional development, all teaching staff will be expected to actively participate in CPD programmes. We work collaboratively, share good practice, and have a Trust-wide approach to development. We need to make sure we have the right people in the right place doing the job that is needed to build excellent provision for our children and young people. Staff are supported and developed professionally to make sure they can do that and are valued and recognised for their work.
We are proud members of the Salford community, constantly striving to be the best and bringing out the best in everyone. Tolerance, mutual respect, honesty, and co-operation are fostered in line with the Academy REACT values across the curriculum.
Our vision is to provide an excellent education for all our students, which brings out the best in all of them and prepares them for success in life. The academy is an exciting place to be and it is an excellent time to join us whether you are a qualified teacher looking to further your experience in tutoring or a student who is thinking about a potential carer in teaching.
