St Mary’s Catholic School are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher / Second in Science to join our thriving Science Department. You will teach across KS3 to KS5 in our modern, well‑equipped science classrooms.

This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students, foster a love of science, and support learners in achieving and exceeding expectations. This role is suitable for an experienced teacher (with the possibility of a TLR 2 as second in science for the right candidate).

Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for science, with the ability to communicate this effectively to students.

Proven skills and experience in leading, or significantly supporting leadership within a science department, or equivalent relevant responsibilities that show readiness to take on a leadership role.

The ability to inspire, challenge, and support students, fostering a positive, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment.

A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring all students—whatever their background or starting point—are supported to achieve their full potential.

A reflective, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to professional development, with the ability to contribute positively to departmental and whole‑school improvement.
