Teacher of Science job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and inspiring Teacher of Science to join our welcoming and ambitious team at St Thomas More Catholic Academy.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Science and believes in the potential of every young person. You will play an important role in inspiring students to become curious learners, confident thinkers and fluent in scientific theories, helping them to understand and appreciate the richness and diversity of the scientific world.
Our mission is “Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts, questioning minds, a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for justice.” This is at the heart of who we are and shapes the way we work with our students and with one another.
As a Teacher of Science, you will have an important part to play in bringing this mission to life. Through your teaching, you will encourage students to develop questioning minds and a thirst for knowledge, nurturing their curiosity about the world around them and giving them the knowledge, skills and confidence to explore it. You will also help our young people to grow as Christ-centred pilgrims of hope, equipped to use their knowledge positively and make a difference in the world.
You will be joining a dedicated Science team who are passionate about their subject and committed to providing engaging, challenging and enjoyable learning experiences. We are proud of our supportive and ambitious school community, where high expectations are combined with strong relationships and a genuine commitment to helping every student thrive.
We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is well organised, enthusiastic, and committed to achieving the very best for students. You will believe that every student can succeed and be willing to go the extra mile to help them achieve their potential.
Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an early-career teacher ready to develop your practice, we would love to hear from you. A proven track record of successful Science teaching across different key stages would be advantageous, as would the ability to teach A Level Science, but above all we are looking for someone with enthusiasm, ambition and a genuine desire to make a difference.
If you are excited by the opportunity to inspire, challenge and encourage our students, and want to be part of a school where your work contributes to something bigger than the classroom, we would be delighted to hear from you.
For further information or an informal conversation about the role, please contact Jane White, Executive PA on 02476642400 or email jwhite@straphaelcmat.co.uk
