What skills and experience we're looking for
We have a fantastic opportunity at The Whitstable School for an ambitious and passionate science teacher to join our highly experienced, close-knit and motivated department.
The successful candidate will teach science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5.
This role also offers an exciting leadership opportunity through our well-established STEM Academy, which is a key part of our curriculum offer at The Whitstable School and one of the reasons many families choose our school. We are proud of the STEM pathway we provide and are looking for someone who is passionate about science, technology, engineering and mathematics to help lead and further develop this provision moving forward.
Our STEM Academy currently runs a range of exciting projects, including IRIS in partnership with a local university, alongside other enrichment opportunities that allow students to extend their scientific knowledge and practical skills beyond the classroom.
A unique aspect of this role is that the successful candidate will be given dedicated curriculum time to lead the STEM Academy programme, working with a highly committed group of students during the school week, alongside some additional enrichment opportunities after school.
