We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated teacher to lead our enhanced provision in our mainstream infant school to deliver personalised learning within a supportive and inclusive environment. Essential qualities and experience: 

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism (ASD) and communication needs
  • Secure understanding of adaptive teaching and Quality First Teaching
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Confidence in leading support staff and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to developing individualised learning programmes that support EHCP outcomes
  • High expectations combined with a nurturing, flexible and reflective approach

This is a unique opportunity to shape provision, champion pupils with SEND, and work within a collaborative and caring school community.

This post is not suitable for an Early Careers Teacher.

As the SEN enhanced provision teacher, you will:

  • Be responsible for teaching a small group of children with special educational needs, whilst consistently meeting the Teachers’ Standards through high-quality practice, professionalism, and commitment.
  • Lead the day-to-day running the enhanced provision, providing a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Deliver learning tailored to individual needs, including those with EHCPs
  • Supporting children to ensure they feel secure, valued, and ready to learn
  • Use a range of communication and engagement strategies such as visual supports, structured approaches, and autism-friendly practice
  • Work collaboratively with the SENDCo, teaching assistants, external professionals, and families to ensure continuity, progress, and effective transition
  • Lead and support Teaching Assistants, providing clear direction and fostering a strong ethos
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and whole-school initiatives
