Are you a passionate, skilled teacher committed to making a meaningful difference for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated teacher to lead our enhanced provision in our mainstream infant school to deliver personalised learning within a supportive and inclusive environment. Essential qualities and experience:
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism (ASD) and communication needs
- Secure understanding of adaptive teaching and Quality First Teaching
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Confidence in leading support staff and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to developing individualised learning programmes that support EHCP outcomes
- High expectations combined with a nurturing, flexible and reflective approach
This is a unique opportunity to shape provision, champion pupils with SEND, and work within a collaborative and caring school community.
This post is not suitable for an Early Careers Teacher.
As the SEN enhanced provision teacher, you will:
- Be responsible for teaching a small group of children with special educational needs, whilst consistently meeting the Teachers’ Standards through high-quality practice, professionalism, and commitment.
- Lead the day-to-day running the enhanced provision, providing a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Deliver learning tailored to individual needs, including those with EHCPs
- Supporting children to ensure they feel secure, valued, and ready to learn
- Use a range of communication and engagement strategies such as visual supports, structured approaches, and autism-friendly practice
- Work collaboratively with the SENDCo, teaching assistants, external professionals, and families to ensure continuity, progress, and effective transition
- Lead and support Teaching Assistants, providing clear direction and fostering a strong ethos
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and whole-school initiatives
