Teacher of SEND (0.4 FTE) job summary

We are looking to appoint a permanent, part-time Teacher of SEND to join us.

The Pingle Academy has two successful Enhanced Resource Units (ERS) with 50 students on roll for September 2022. Our inclusive academy welcomes students with significant needs within the Learning Support Base (LSB) and the Autism Resource Unit (ARC).

All students have EHCPs, and the majority of students learn within our Enhanced Resource Units full time. Class sizes are small, and, alongside the National Curriculum, students have access to Lifeskills, Forest School, Duke of Edinburgh Award and SEMH support. We have a full-time Family Support Worker within the department, as well as an experienced Teaching Assistant Team. We can offer a caring and supportive working environment and professional development of a high standard.
We are looking for a permanent, part-time teacher of SEND who will work across the LSB and ARC. Our ERS currently has six SEND teachers, so you will be joining an experienced and established team. We would welcome applications from candidates who have a background in SEND or are looking to develop their careers in this specialism.

Primary-trained candidates are also encouraged to apply. We are looking for a passionate person with excellent communication skills and a desire to make a difference to the academic outcomes and life chances of our students as they prepare for adulthood.
