What skills and experience we're looking for
The MFL department at Sandwell Academy are an enthusiastic, passionate team of linguists who are committed to continually developing and improving the language curriculum in Spanish. Comprising six members of staff currently, the Academy prioritises the subject, with 60% of our cohort taking GCSE in the subject, and the option being popular at A level. Teaching methods are research-based and the department maintains a high profile by delivering a wide range of trips, visits and cultural opportunities to enrich students’ experiences. The department is well resourced with centralised planning and the ambitious curriculum is designed to enable students to use complex language from an early stage. Curriculum allocation consists of two hours and forty minutes a week from year 7 as well as enrichment opportunities.
We are looking for an ambitious teacher of Spanish who fervently believes in the value of modern foreign languages for young people. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning, and in working in a highly motivated team.

Sandwell Academy opened in 2006 and now educates over 1,200 students, recruiting 200 students each year into Year 7 and a Sixth Form of 350 students. Sandwell Academy is part of the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust (TTMAT), established in September 2017.
