Job description

We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Teacher to commence in September 2020 (or earlier if available) in our vibrant and exciting school.The successful candidate will ideally be qualified to Level 7 diploma SpLd (or equivalent) and confident in their ability to assess and teach students with a range of difficulties, both individually and in small groups and to carry out assessment for exam access arrangements.

Qualified to level 7 diploma (SpLd ) (or hold a JCQ equivalent
approved SEN qualification)
Have knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of SEN difficulties.
Have a positive outlook which helps boost students’ self-confidence so that they can make excellent progress and sustain high standards.
To work as part of a close team who strive together to ensure our students get the best support we can provide.
To be prepared to share your SEN knowledge and advice with colleagues in other faculties.
To have a positive approach to using ICT and adaptive aids to support students.
To have the patience required with students with a range of learning needs
To have an organised and methodical approach to record keeping
To be able to use de-escalation techniques to ensure the learning environment remains positive and calm at all times

About Sponne School

Sponne is an outstanding, over subscribed community comprehensive school with 1418 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 78% students gaining grades 9-4 in both English and Mathematics ate GCSE.
