Teacher job summary

The Oxfordshire Hospital School is an all through maintained special school with a special responsibility for preparing the young people we teach for their futures, whatever they may bring and regardless of the challenges that face them. OHS is a school where time is precious and where every learning opportunity must count. All teaching at our school is 1:1 or in small groups and is entirely personalised and pupil-focussed.

We are looking for a highly committed, positive and skilled primary phase teacher to join and enhance our dedicated team of staff. This is an exciting professional development opportunity for a primary specialist teacher who is an excellent classroom practitioner from either a mainstream or special provision background and who is passionate about teaching science to young people who have medical needs.

Initially the post will be in our Outreach Teaching team. Our staff are all subject to redeployment across all of our settings according to pupil need.

Full support and appropriate training is available to help the successful candidate settle into the school team.

Are you a reflective practitioner who puts young people at the heart of everything you do and would enjoy working within multidisciplinary teams? If so, and you would like to consider joining us at the Oxfordshire Hospital School, please apply or get in touch for more details.

We would encourage and warmly welcome enquiries and will try to accommodate visits as best we can. Please contact Eva Marino, School Business Manager on eva.marino@ohs.oxon.sch.uk or tel 01865 957480 should you require any further information.

Full details are on our website at https://ohs.oxon.sch.uk/about-us/vacancies/.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and promoting equality of opportunity. Our Safeguarding Policy can be found on our website at https://ohs.oxon.sch.uk/information/policies-documents/.

Commitment to safeguarding

Safer Recruitment - Oxfordshire Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants are required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining a post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.
