Teacher - Resource Base job summary
We are seeking to appoint Complex Learning Needs Resource Base Teacher at Castle Mead School due to expansion of our Resource Base. The Resource Base offers provision for children with Complex Learning needs who have Educational Health Care plans (EHCP) (approximately 20 children). For the successful candidate, this exciting role offers the opportunity to be part of a high performing collaborative team working to ensure outstanding practice is achieved across all sites.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a track record of shaping practice around the following principles;
• Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured;
• Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships;
• Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences to their individual needs respond.
• There is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers; and
• Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.
We are seeking applicants who are:
• Confident practitioners, demonstrating high expectations of achievement and behaviour
• Has a good understanding of Special Learning Needs, including ASD, ADHD, Global Delay, Attachment, Physical and Speech and Language needs
• Committed to Inclusion
• Passionate about providing memorable learning opportunities for all children within a creative, inspiring curriculum
• A sound understanding of the importance of continuous and enriching provision to support teaching and learning
• Flexible, with a strong commitment to teamwork
• Keen to share and develop leadership skills and expertise
• Experience in teaching across the age range, preferably Early Years
• Committed to the highest standards of learning, teaching, planning and assessment
• Able to support children to become independent learners who take a lead in their own learning
• Experienced in working alongside multi-agency professionals
• Developing a communication rich environment including knowledge about alternative communication systems such as Makaton and PECS
• Able to use ICT to support special needs
• Energetic, warm and caring
