St. Joseph’s is a welcoming, faith centred community where everyone is known by name. All members of our Academy community are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. The children are eager, happy and enjoy learning. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated team who strive to ensure that every child is successful, confident and responsible, equipped with all the skills they need to continue on their future learning journey. We work in partnership with parents and carers and very much value the support and contribution they make to school life.

Our children are very well behaved and highly motivated and we love spending our days with them! We are proud to be serving a richly diverse and inclusive community, inspired by our strong Catholic ethos and tradition which stretches back over 100 years. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational teacher to make a positive difference to our pupils’ life chances.

Ideally we would love to attract someone who is:

  • able to participate enthusiastically in the faith life of the school
  • skilled at giving children outstanding learning experiences
  • highly motivated, adaptable and committed to achieving high standards
  • committed to achieving high standards of learning and behaviour
  • able to smile a lot and demonstrate high expectations of yourself and others
  • able to make learning fun and challenging
  • caring, friendly, adaptable and hardworking

We can offer you:

  • a close faith community where God is at the centre of all we do
  • wonderful children to make your day a pleasure
  • a highly skilled, loyal and supportive team of colleagues
  • parents who will work with you to make sure their children succeed
  • plenty of CPD opportunities and experiences

Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced teachers as well as ECT’s who would support and contribute to the ethos of the school. Visits to the Academy are warmly welcomed by arrangement with the Headteacher, Mrs M. Togher.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
