What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a Teacher who: 

  • Understands the complex barriers faced by pupils with SEMH needs 

  • Can lead with warmth, integrity and high expectations 

  • Is confident balancing accountability with humanity 

  • Has the resilience to lead in complexity and the humility to listen 

  • Is a team player who can work effectively with all members of the Thomas Ashton Team.

Can you:

  • Deliver the curriculum in ways that reduce anxiety, build confidence and promote genuine mastery

  • Demonstrate a nurturing approach to behaviour management and an understanding of complex needs and SEMH 

  • Regularly monitor and assess the progress of pupils, ensuring their improved engagement with the school and their learning 

  • Model and encourage appropriate social behaviour in and out of school and to cater for the general welfare of pupils 

Experience in SEMH, alternative provision or similarly challenging contexts is highly valued, but above all we are looking for someone whose values align with our mission. This is not simply joining a school it is helping create the next chapter of a specialist SEMH provision within the highly respected New Bridge MAT.
