What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, or evidence of substantial teaching experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and inspire children, talk to parents and our community, and communicate well with colleagues

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and execute effective lessons.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive school culture.

  • Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adaptive teaching strategies.

  • Secure knowledge of the foundational knowledge and skills children in key stage 1 require.

Desirable

  • Innovative teaching methods and a passion for outdoor learning

  • Strong understanding of current educational trends and pedagogical approaches.

  • Understanding of the Early Years curriculum and how Key stage 1 builds on this.

  • Strong track record in Key Stage 1

  • Experience of the effective use of continuous provision within year 1
