What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, or evidence of substantial teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and inspire children, talk to parents and our community, and communicate well with colleagues
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and execute effective lessons.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive school culture.
- Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adaptive teaching strategies.
- Secure knowledge of the foundational knowledge and skills children in key stage 1 require.
Desirable
- Innovative teaching methods and a passion for outdoor learning
- Strong understanding of current educational trends and pedagogical approaches.
- Understanding of the Early Years curriculum and how Key stage 1 builds on this.
- Strong track record in Key Stage 1
- Experience of the effective use of continuous provision within year 1
