What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant to support a child with additional learning needs, who is currently in Reception.
The child has an EHCP for her learning needs and she has a diagnosis of ASD.
We are looking for staff to support the child in all areas of the curriculum and to ensure her safety throughout the school day. An ability to differentiate some of the curriculum would be desirable so that appropriate learning materials can be modified to meet the needs of the pupils. Experience of working with ASD children is essential as the child can display some challenging behaviour.
Enthusiasm, energy and knowledge of how children learn are essential. Appropriate qualifications to Level 2 are required and GCSE in Maths and English – Grade C or above are essential.
Lammack Community Primary School is a larger than average primary school which is desirable to work at due to the hardworking children, fantastic staff team spirit and excellent environment and facilities. ‘Warm and friendly relationships exist between pupils and their teachers. Pupils said that they feel happy, safe and secure. They enjoy being part of this large school which has a small family feel. They benefit from the care and attention that their teachers give to them.’ (Ofsted September, 2022)
What the school offers its staff
This position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to join Lammack during a significant period of expansion. Lammack has just completed a large build project to transform this very popular primary school from a 2 ½ form entry to a 3 form entry school.
This year has seen the first intake of 90 pupils and there will be year on year increase for the following seven years, so the successful candidate would be joining the school at the optimum time for future prospects
