Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a talented individual to help foster a caring and supportive learning environment for our young people. Your experience of pastoral care will place our learners’ welfare at the heart of the school.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to problem solve and provide excellent customer service to our community.
You will have:
- NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or A Level or equivalent and GCSEs in English and Maths at grades ‘C’ or ‘5’ and above.
- Experience of working with children in a secondary school or other setting.
- Experience of supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
- The ability to maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
- The ability to work effectively within a team.

Highfield Leadership Academy in Blackpool, Lancashire is a 1200 place, 11-16 secondary school and is part of Star Academies. We joined Star on 1 April 2016 and like all Star schools, “Leadership” is our specialism. As a designated Leadership Academy, we are keen to ensure our pupils are offered encouragement and a wealth of opportunities to develop their natural skills, abilities and potential. We actively provide learning opportunities to teach performance leadership skills through project-based learning and community work.
