About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant (19.5 hrs per week - Monday, Thursday & Friday) to join our Learning Support team at Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College.

The post is term time only + 3 additional days, and permanent.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant you will work within a highly skilled team providing one to one, small group and classroom support, including intervention strategies, to meet the needs of students with SEND and those with barriers to learning.

You will be responsible for providing support to groups of students inside or outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities, encouraging independence, liaising with the class teacher and Assistant Head for Inclusion & SEND in relation to the use of intervention strategies for students and providing feedback to the class teacher.

About You

Applicants should have experience of working with young people and the ability to establish good professional relationships with students and colleagues. The successful candidate will also have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection and special educational needs.

Applicants for this post should be educated to GCSE level including grade 5 or equivalent in both English and Maths, be organised, reliable and resilient, and be committed to their own learning.
