Teaching Assistant 1:1 job summary

Netheravon All Saints Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join its welcoming and vibrant team and provide support to pupils, including those with additional needs.

Contract: Fixed Term (until 31st August 2026). Working Hours: Part Time (12.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 39 weeks, includes Teacher Training Days). Required: September 2025.

We are a caring single form entry primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. Located in the village of Netheravon, Wiltshire, we have strong links with our local community and Netheravon All Saints’ Church. As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to support children of all abilities, including those requiring SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO. The role will require you to work on a one-to-one basis with two children with EHCPs in place.

  • Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
  • Enjoys working with children and can develop good working relationships with them;Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Can be a strong team player as well as use your own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social and emotional wellbeing;
  • Has experience of supporting children’s learning.
