What skills and experience we're looking for
Be the person who helps a child believe they can.
At Ide Primary School, we know that the right adults can make a lasting difference to a child's life.
Not through grand gestures, but through everyday acts of kindness, encouragement, patience, consistency, creativity and care. Through helping a child feel safe enough to take risks, confident enough to share their ideas, and supported enough to achieve their full potential.
We are looking for someone who can nurture positive relationships, support children’s social, emotional and behavioural needs, and help create an environment where every child feels valued, included and able to thrive.
As an inclusive school, our children are at the heart of everything we do. This role will involve supporting pupils across the school, including children with additional needs, helping them to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.
At Ide Primary School, we are proud of our welcoming community and our commitment to helping every child develop a love of learning, confidence in themselves, and the skills they need to flourish both now and in the future.
We are looking for someone who:
- genuinely enjoys working with children and building positive relationships
- brings calmness, kindness, resilience and a sense of humour
- believes every child deserves to feel successful
- can support children with a wide range of needs and personalities
- is proactive, adaptable and willing to get stuck in
- is reflective and committed to continual improvement
- wants to be part of a collaborative and caring school community
In this role, you will:
- support pupils in class, in small groups and sometimes on a 1:1 basis
- help children access learning and develop confidence and independence
- work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences
- support children's social, emotional and behavioural development
- celebrate progress, from the smallest breakthrough to the biggest achievement
- contribute to a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment
- build positive relationships with families, colleagues and the wider school community
- play an active part in school life, visits, events and enrichment opportunities
What the school offers its staff

If you want to make a genuine difference, believe in inclusion and belonging, and would like to be part of a school community that cares deeply about children and one another, we would love to hear from you.
