What skills and experience we're looking for

Peninsula East Primary Academyhas a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiasticTeaching Assistantto join our team and provide support for pupils within our school. The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with primary-aged children. It may be required that the appointed candidate will also cover lunches and some classes as part of the role. We are also looking for the successful applicant to have a proven high standard of both spoken and written English and Mathematics.

Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner.The successful candidate will be able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills.In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust.

This is a fixed-term opportunity until July 2024 andoffers an actual salary of £16,699 per annum (£23,114 full-time equivalent), working 31.25 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week inset.

We work closely within our community, having developed links with Haven holiday park, Slough Fort and Allhallows Church. We are also lucky to have extensive outdoor grounds as well as a Nursery provision. We are proud of our digital strategy with all of our children in Key stage 2 having access to a one to one device to further enhance their learning experiences.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 20,000 students and employing 3,000 talented staff.
