About the Role

  • To work under the guidance of the class teacher in the planning and implementation of work programmes with individuals or groups of pupils or the whole class to promote effective teaching and learning.
  • Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
  • During the short term absence of the class teacher a Level 3 teaching assistant may be required to supervise the whole class and deliver pre prepared activities.
  • To Support pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • To provide general support to the class teacher in the management and organisation of the pupil and the classroom.
  • To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
  • To provide cover at Lunchtime.

About You

    We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant who

    Has a flexible approach and ability to work as part of a team
    Demonstrates excellent classroom practice with high standards of teaching and learning
    Can form positive and caring relationships with children which motivates them to learn, grow and be confident
    Enjoys planning and leading play- based activities
    Is a good team player who is willing to contribute to the ethos and wider community of the school
    Is willing to participate fully in all aspects of school life
    Has a passion for the outside classroom and knowledge of Forest school activities
    Possess knowledge of phonics, reading, writing and numeracy
    Has a commitment to professional development and the skills to engage positively with practitioners, parents/carers and families
    Is fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.
