What skills and experience we're looking for

We are very excited to announce that Ghost Hill Infant and Nursery School are looking for a part time, maternity cover Teaching Assistant in Year 1.

We are ideally looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a good knowledge of working with children with SEND. Part of the role will be supporting children with complex needs; as part of a strong team of adults in the classrooms.

The main purpose of the role is to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. The post holder will also supervise children during lunchtimes to support and develop their health and well-being and social development.

The post holder will be responsible to their class teacher for day-to-day activities.

The post holder interacts on a professional level with colleagues – including outside agencies – and members of the trust team, seeking to establish and maintain productive relationships with them in order to promote mutual understanding of the school curriculum with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning in the school.

Salary payments are averaged out over the 12 months of the Academic Year, if you begin employment with the Trust, during the Academic Year or you have changes made to your contract, a Mid-Year Adjustment calculation will be made. This is to ensure that employees are only paid for work they will do over the remaining months of the Academic Year.
