• Working pattern: Full time (Can be done as a job share): This is a five day a week teaching assistant position.
• Contract type: Fixed term - December 2025 - August 2026
• Pay scale: Plymouth City Council Grade C5-C7

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a candidate who relates well to children and is able to attune quickly and understand their needs. A knowledge of the curriculum and how children learn would be helpful. Initially this post will be in KS1 in a Y1 class, supporting a child with social emotional needs.

The candidate should have qualifications to assist with teaching children of KS1 age and ideally some experience of this.

An understanding of child development would be advantageous. The candidate should understand how they can support the teacher in this role.
