Salary: NJC Grade C: £25,583 - £26,403 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: This is a fixed term position working 14.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2026 (Monday 9:15 -12:00, Tuesday 8:30 - 3:30, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 -12:00)

Hemyock are looking to recruit a dynamic Teaching Assistant to support individuals but also with groups of children across their school.

About the Role

You will work in a highly supportive team within a positive setting. High levels of initiative and flexibility are essential along with excellent communication skills. You will be supported in the planning and preparation for intervention programmes by the class teacher.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence You will also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who can bring energy, compassion and commitment to the role.

Essential qualities include:

Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to relate well to both children and adults

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent
