Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for Teaching Assistants (1 32.5 hours a week, 1 Wednesday only) who have high expectations for children and themselves and understand how to effectively deliver priorities both on EHCP’s and SEND support plans. We are an inclusive school, with a recent Good OFSTED inspection (November 2023), with a very clear direction and high ambitions for the inclusive education all our Longwick Learners receive. We are a friendly and welcoming team who are passionate and positive about the work that we do.

Our school is part of the ODBST Trust which offers an array of CPD, support and career development and the Senior Leadership Team welcomes ambitious support staff wanting to further develop their career paths. Full training will be provided in role and STEP ON restorative focused behaviour training will be provided when in post.

Visits to the school to meet the Headteacher and SENDCo are encouraged.

Post 1 (Permanent)
Hours : 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, 32.5 hours a week, Term time plus Inset Days (39 weeks)
Actual salary for 32.5 hour role: £17,668 - £18,370

Post 2 (Fixed term)
Hours: Wednesday only, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, 6.5 hours a week Term time, plus an Inset Day (39 weeks)
Actual salary for 6.5 hour role: £3,460
This role is linked to an EHCP and are therefore initially offered as a fixed-term contract (until July 2025) with the potential to extend dependent on funding.
