Teaching Assistant job summary
Whitesheet C of E Primary Academy is a warm, welcoming village school with a strong sense of community, where every child is valued, encouraged, and supported to achieve their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated, friendly team for 30 hours a week (term-time only on a fixed term contract until 31/8/2027).
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is committed to making a positive difference in their educational journey.
The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment where children feel confident, happy, and motivated to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teaching and learning activities across the school.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to enhance learning and development.
- Helping children to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children's emotional wellbeing.
- Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
- Promoting the school's Christian values and inclusive ethos.
- Contributing positively to the life of our small school community.

Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting would be desirable, but most importantly, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine desire to support children's learning and development.
