Teaching Assistant job summary

    Hours: 31.25 hours per week - Monday to Friday (term time only) Working hours: 8:45am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31/08/2028

    We are a friendly and collaborative school seeking a patient, adaptable and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs on a fixed-term basis for two years

    Key Responsibilities

          • Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with identified Special Educational Needs.
          • Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
          • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement support strategies.
          • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
          • Adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs.
          • Work flexibly and make timely adaptations to individualised plans in response to the pupil's changing needs, ensuring appropriate support and progress.
          • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records as required.

          The successful candidate will have

          • Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs. A calm, patient and resilient approach.
          • The ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
          • Experience of supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
          • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
          • The confidence to respond effectively to challenging situations and adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
          • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

          The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
