Moorside High School is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and forward-thinking learning community.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of our teaching and SEND teams to support pupils both in the classroom and in intervention settings, including those with additional needs. Your role will be pivotal in helping students engage with their learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

About Us

Moorside High School is a vibrant, inclusive 11-16 school located in a modern campus in Swinton, Salford. With over 1,200 students, we pride ourselves on getting the balance right between academic achievement, pastoral care, and wider enrichment.

We are proud members of Consilium Academies, a Trust committed to Excellence, Equality and Integrity. Being part of this collaborative network allows us to work closely with other schools to share best practices and deliver the highest quality education.

We are a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted 2022) with a clear vision to ensure every student leaves us ready for their next successful chapter – whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, or a fulfilling career.

The Role

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers with the preparation of learning materials and classroom organisation.
  • Encouraging positive pupil behaviour and helping to build a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Working with small groups or individual students to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Supporting students’ social and emotional development.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification or has relevant experience.
  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Is proactive, flexible, and passionate about helping young people succeed.
  • Has experience supporting students with additional needs (desirable).

Why Join Us?

At Moorside and across Consilium Academies, we value our staff and offer a range of excellent benefits:

  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • 34 days’ annual leave (pro rata) for support staff + bank holidays
  • 36-hour working week
  • Enhanced sick pay and family leave schemes
  • Professional development via our Centre for Professional Learning
  • Wellbeing support including counselling services
  • Access to Vivup staff discounts and home electronics scheme

Join a Trust That Cares

At Consilium, our mission is clear – we want to enrich lives and inspire ambitions. We are driven by our values, and we strive to create schools where every student can thrive, and every colleague can grow. As part of the team, you’ll benefit from a culture of collaboration, support, and continuous improvement.

Closing date for applications is Monday 7th July 2025

Interviews will take place on a date to be agreed
