About this Role
The Ferrars Academy is a very popular, successful and well resourced academy; rated Good by Ofsted, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in education, for infant and nursery aged children. We are located on the outskirts of Luton close to the M1, A5 link roads and the L&D hospital. Our 3 form entry school has a very diverse school population with a range of different languages, religions and cultures. Our children are well behaved and learn in a vibrant and friendly environment.
We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to start in September 2024 to work within the school classrooms supporting individuals and groups of children. The work may involve supporting ISP’s, those with EHCP and running intervention groups as well as offering general support to the class teachers.
The successful candidate will be someone who can:
- Be enthusiastic, calm and patient
- Motivate and inspire children, offering both challenge and enjoyment
- Put the children’s needs first
- Work as part of a team and work flexibility
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and good communication skills
- Display good practice when supporting individuals or small groups
- Demonstrate high expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour by having good knowledge of the curriculum

This is a permanent position. 33.5 hours per week, Mon 8:30am-5:00pm Tues-Fri 8:30am-4:00pm with 1 hour for lunch, term time only plus 5 INSET days. (39 weeks per year).

Additional information:
Applicants for this public facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse and provide effective help or advice in fluently spoken English.
