About Our Primary School
Trenode Primary is a small, rural school in Widegates. The school has a ‘family ethos’ and uses its Christian values to develop the whole child. We have a friendly, supportive team who work collaboratively to achieve high outcomes for all pupils.
Role overview
We are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team for 3 days a week (Wednesday to Friday), working within our mixed EYFS/Year 1/Year 2 class. The role also includes a 30-minute lunchtime supervisor duty on each of the three working days.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEND and will be flexible, adaptable and passionate about helping young children thrive, both academically and personally.

Contract type: Fixed Term - Maternity cover
Contract end date if applicable: 23 July 2027
Contract terms: Part time - 18.75 hours per week
Working weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Paid weeks: 43.699 per year (includes holiday entitlement)

Payscale: Bridge 2

About this Role - As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in:
- Supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the classroom.
- Providing targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND) as required.
- Using ‘Read Write Inc’ and other systematic phonics programmes to help children learn to read, write, and spell fluently and confidently.
- Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team to create a calm, positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
