Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to join our team of wonderful teaching assistants. The role will involve supporting learning alongside the class teacher in the classroom and working with individuals and small groups under the teacher’s direction.

Some administrative support will also be required (photocopying etc).

The post is part-time, working from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm on 5 days per week, term time only and will be paid at H3 £11563 (FTE £25583) for the Teaching Assistant element.

The role will also include an element of lunchtime supervision ( paid at H2 £2801 (FTE £24796). This is a fixed term contract until July 2027. Total salary £14364 combining both elements.

The successful candidate will:

* Have strong written and spoken English and Maths skills

* Be confident to work with junior age children.

* Be willing to support children with additional needs as required

* Be a committed practitioner with high expectations of our children and of themselves

* Be passionate about teaching and learning and have the ability and dedication to become an outstanding member of our team

* Be hardworking, patient, a team player and have a sense of humour

* Be able to follow professional advice and implement appropriate strategies to support learning

* Be able to work on their own initiative and manage and organise their time effectively

* Be able to confidently communicate with parents, carers and class teachers to keep them informed of a child's progress

* Show commitment to the safeguarding of children

* Previous experience in the role of Teaching Assistant is desirable though not essential.
