What skills and experience we're looking for

All Cannings Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant and MDSA to join their team. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to work alongside the class teacher to support the delivery of the National Curriculum. The role involves supporting pupils’ learning, motivation, and independence through individual and group work. You will help promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and pupils’ emotional wellbeing both in and out of the classroom. The post may include supporting children with additional or personal care needs and assisting with progress monitoring and classroom resources. Applicants should have experience in an educational setting, strong communication skills, and a clear commitment to safeguarding and professional development.

Your role will also encompass responsibility as a Midday Supervisory Assistant. You must be caring and reliable, ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils during the lunchtime period. The role includes supervising children in the hall and playground, promoting positive behaviour, and helping maintain a clean and safe environment. You will be responsible for setting up and clearing the dining area and responding appropriately to minor accidents or illnesses. Effective communication with children and colleagues is essential, along with modelling the school’s values and ethos. This role is ideal for someone energetic, warm, and committed to supporting children’s welfare and safeguarding.

There is also a possibility of some additional after-school club hours. This will be discussed at the interview.
