2.5 hrs per week paid pro-rata term-time only plus INSET (38 wks)

Heron Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, caring & enthusiastic Teaching Assistant.

The successful candidate will be supporting a pupil currently in Reception class with Type 1 Diabetes. Experience of working in a primary school setting is preferable. Experience of working with a child with Type 1 Diabetes is essential. Applicants should be prepared to carry out administration of medication and keep records, and undertake the management of the diabetic medication, including monitoring the reader and using the Omnipod 5 device. Training is available to support with this. With an ability to demonstrate a positive and sensitive approach that puts the needs of the child first, strong interpersonal skills, ability to show initiative and a clear understanding of the ways in which children learn successfully. An ability to show experience of behaviour modelling and behaviour management strategies would also be an advantage.

Working hours are Mon - Fri: 8.30am - 12.00 & 1.00pm - 3.15pm TA

&

Mon-Fri 0.5 hour between 12.00-1.00 Midday Supervisor
