What skills and experience we're looking for

The Government requires a Teaching Assistant plus PE SEND Enrichment Coordinator to work with pupils with SEND, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Medical and Physical Impairments, learning difficulties and health care needs.

· To assist in the delivery and preparation of sports coaching, mentoring and training to Teaching Assistants to raise the standard of Teaching and Learning and inclusion in PE.

· To assist in the planning, implementation and delivery of intervention plans for SEND pupils ensuring their needs and targets are met.

· To assist in the preparation and delivery of training to TA’s on inclusion in PE and the methods used in PE to identify specific individual pupil needs.

· To monitor progress of pupils in extraction groups and recommend additional/further action needed in order for grades to be met.

· To assist in the promotion and development of awareness and positive ethos of disability sport amongst pupils through a wide variety of activities available in school and after school, ensuring pupils feel a sense of achievement.

· To be responsible for planning, organising and the delivery of a sports programme of enrichment activities and after school clubs including festivals and tournaments in Woodchurch High School in order to promote SEND PE in school

· To create links with outside agencies, organisations and other schools in order to create more opportunities for pupils to take part in SEND sporting activities.

· To assist in bidding for relevant funding in order to run additional SEND sporting programmes.

· To assist in covering PE lessons in the absence of PE teaching Staff.

· To have excellent communication skills across the whole school

· To be able to work with TA’s and a variety of other professionals to ensure programmes are run effectively. The diverse role of the TA is crucial and requires enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility
