Awsworth Primary and Nursery School is a 1 and a half form entry primary school located in the small rural village of Awsworth, on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. With a wonderful community and exceptional children, our school offers a warm and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our fantastic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support pupils with phonics and mathematics interventions, as well as assist with behaviour management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to individual and small groups of children in phonics and mathematics
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment
  • Monitor and record the progress of the children you support
  • Assist with the preparation of resources and learning materials

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Experience working with children with SEN and behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm for supporting children's academic and social development
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
