Teaching Assistant job summary

Required to start as soon as possible

Level Two Teaching Assistant - up to 32.5 hours per week plus a Midday Supervisor role for 5 hours per week

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (term-time only)

Actual Salary: £19,463 - £20,086 (Level 2 Teaching Assistant) Meridian Trust Support Salary Scale, Grade 5 (Points 5-7) based on 32.5 hours per week. Plus Midday Supervisor role for 5 hours per week - Meridian Trust Support Staff Salary Scale, Grade 3. Actual Salary: £2,902

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at Trumpington Park Primary School. As a Level Two Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our SENDCo team and class teachers to provide high quality support for pupils who may have a range of additional needs. You will enjoy making a valuable difference to learning and progress, delivering targeted interventions and supporting inside and outside of the classroom. The successful candidate will have the ability to adapt teaching resources to meet individual pupil abilities and be fun, creative and innovative in approach to enable our pupils to achieve their full potential. There will be a Midday Supervisor contract included in this role. You will be responsible to the Headteacher.

The ideal candidate:

Will possess GCSE English & Mathematics Grade C (4/5) or above or equivalent

Will have achieved a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification

Will have experience of supporting pupils with SEND needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, social and emotional needs

Will possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team

Can be adaptable, take on board new ideas and think on their feet!

Have an understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
