Our school is a friendly, positive village school with high standards expected of the children within a caring, Christian ethos. We value partnerships with parents, carers and the community to create a stimulating, learning environment for the children. We plan an active curriculum that aims to be vibrant, challenging and creative with clear skills progression for learning. The school is at the heart of the village of Glinton, just north of Peterborough. Our core Christian values are at the core of everything we do. They have been written in consultation with our local incumbent, staff, pupils and parents. They are embedded in our curriculum and underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

We have a wonderful opportunity to recruit for a brand new Teaching Assistant to join our community! This role would entail supervising and supporting pupils in the learning environment, whilst assisting the teacher with the implementation of pupil education and Quality First Teaching. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop confidence and make progress, while contributing to a positive, nurturing and purposeful learning environment.

At Peakirk, we embrace the fact that every child is different and therefore, the educational needs of every child are different. We believe that every child is a precious and unique gift from God. We are committed to ensuring that all children, regardless of their individual needs or abilities, feel welcomed, supported and celebrated within our community. We work in partnership with families, professionals, and the wider community to provide a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. The ideal candidate will therefore support and uphold these expectations and standards.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, friendly and positive about their role in education and contribution to our whole school community
  • Is committed to supporting, motivating, and challenging the learning of children of all abilities within the classroom
  • Can work creatively with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment, meeting the needs of the pupils and curriculum
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Understands the importance of inclusion and meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, initiative and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Shares our commitment to providing an engaging and supportive learning environment.
  • Is keen to support the ethos of a Church school.
  • Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare- both at home and in school.

In return, we can offer you:

  • A welcoming and caring school, that encourages everyone to give their best at all times, that aims to contribute all they can to our life as a school community
  • A collaborative and supportive school community that is underpinned by the Christian ethos, driven by a shared passion of children’s welfare and education
  • A rewarding and exciting working environment, that inspires and challenges within a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Access to a vast array of employee benefits and recognition systems, via our brand-new partnership with Perkbox
