Full time, part time (Can be done as a job share): Working times are as follows; Monday 8.55am to 4.45pm Tuesday to Thursday 8.55am to 3.45pm Friday 8.55am to 3.35pm Due to the needs of the school, we are currently not able to offer different working hours from those advertised. However, we would welcome applications from staff who are interested in part time work, subject to a minimum of 2 days per week for the above hours.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Mountjoy School is seeking to appoint a Classroom Teaching Assistant, to start from September 2026, or earlier.

Actual Salary £18,813 - £19,729 per annum (Grade 6, SCP 6-9) pay award pending.

This job is Term Time Only for 31 hours per week and 39 weeks per year.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting young people who present with additional needs and has a strong understanding of child learning and development.

Applicants must have achieved a qualification in English/literacy and Mathematics/numeracy, equivalent to at least Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework, (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 passes).

Certificates will need to be provided to confirm the successful applicant holds these qualifications.
