Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form is looking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated team players to work closely with targeted groups of students to raise aspirations and support development and progress across all subjects. They will work, under guidance, to provide support in addressing the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. 
 
The Teaching Assistant Additional Needs will have the opportunity to make a considerable and sustained impact on the achievement and personal development of our students. 
 
The post of Teaching Assistant Additional Needs will support students and their progression in the following way: 
  • Participate in the comprehensive assessment of students to determine those with additional needs who would benefit from personalised provision.
  • Act as an academic mentor for groups/individual students where specific support is needed to achieve identified goals.
  • Support students’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources. 
  • Support classroom teachers in the implementation of Classroom Support Plans.
  • *Work with nurture groups in the school garden setting, to include small gardening projects including encouraging students to take care of our school chickens.
  • ^Work with key stage 3 students to support their transition to secondary school and beyond.
