What skills and experience we're looking for

Could you help me believe in myself?

Hello.

Sometimes I find school really hard.

I might struggle to understand my feelings, manage my emotions or trust the adults around me. Some days I can feel worried, angry, overwhelmed or anxious. I don't always have the words to explain what's going on, and sometimes my behaviour tells my story instead.

What I really need is someone who doesn't give up on me.

Someone who will greet me with a smile, notice when I'm finding things difficult and help me feel safe enough to learn. Someone who understands that every small step I make is a huge achievement.

At Medina House School, we help children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to grow in confidence, build positive relationships and discover what they can achieve. Every day is different, and every success is celebrated.

Could you be part of my journey?

What the school offers its staff

What you'll do

You'll work alongside our amazing team to help me:

Feel safe, valued and understood.

Build my confidence and emotional resilience.

Learn how to recognise and manage my feelings.

Develop positive relationships with others.

Overcome barriers to learning so I can achieve my potential.

Celebrate every success—no matter how small it might seem.

Some days you'll help me regulate my emotions before I can begin learning. Other days you'll help me discover something I'm really good at. Every day, you'll make a difference.

Why Medina House?

When you join Medina House, you'll become part of a caring, experienced and supportive team where relationships come first.

We invest in our staff because when adults feel supported, children do too.

As part of your professional development, you'll have the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications through Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) or Thrive training. These specialist programmes will equip you with practical strategies and therapeutic approaches to support children's emotional wellbeing, resilience and social development, helping you make an even greater impact on the lives of our pupils.

We also offer:

A welcoming, supportive and collaborative staff team.

Excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development.

A rewarding role where every day brings new challenges and achievements.

The chance to make a genuine difference to children's lives.

I'm looking for someone who...

Is kind, calm and patient.

Believes that every child can succeed.

Can stay positive, even when I'm having a difficult day.

Builds trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Is resilient, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team.

Brings creativity, warmth and a sense of humour to every day.

If this sounds like you, I'd love to meet you.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Come and see what makes Medina House such a special place to learn and work.
